Hit the open road and don’t look back with the Yamaha FJR1300—a modern supersport touring bike that features a number of accessories designed specifically to make sure you go the distance. And as a third-generation FJR, this ride takes comfort and performance to a brand new level.

On the starting lineup is the 1,298-cc, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled inline-four engine that dishes out some serious power and 102 foot-pounds of torque at 7,000 r.p.m.—talk about an impressive disbursement of muscle over a wide r.p.m. range. Red line is a low 9,000 r.p.m. for an excellent reliability record. This impressive engine is paired up with a five-speed, multi-plate wet-clutch transmission and delivers respectable fuel consumption at 36 mpg, from an ergonomically designed 6.6-gallon tank.

Electronically adjustable suspension and cruise control and MotoGP-inspired traction control keep this ride hugging every corner. This ride aces the aerodynamics checklist with a single-piece upper fairing and sleek 6.6-litre gas tank. The upper fairing design also reduces drag and offers up great wind and weather protection, as does the push-button, electrically adjustable windscreen.

Take everything you need with quick-release luggage mounts that boast fast removal of the 30-litre colour-matched hard saddlebags. In the upper left side of the fairing, you’ll find small item storage, and inside this compartment is a 12-volt, 30-watt DC power outlet for added convenience.
