The second round of the Rockstar Energy Canadian Motocross Nationals took place June 12, 2016, in Nanaimo, B.C.  The climate for this round was cool and dry, making for great racing conditions.

Parts Canada Husqvarna rider Tyler Medaglia had a great start to the day when he qualified for MX1 in the 3rd position. Moto 1 did not go as planned when Medaglia encountered an issue and had to pull into the pits. He returned to the track and was able to push to finish in 19th. Moto 2 proved to be a battle with the hard-packed, rocky track. Medaglia rode hard with the leaders in sight and finished in 6th place, putting him in 11th for Round 2 overall.

“This round went better than the first round,” he said. “We bettered a couple things on my FC 350, and I went into the day feeling great. Moto 1 I had some problems, but was able to get back on the track and repass some riders. I felt like my riding was on par with the leaders. Moto 2 I had 19th gate pick and was able to work my way into 6th . I am looking forward to Calgary as the improvements we made on my bike will make for some fun racing!”

The next stop on the Canadian circuit is Calgary, Alberta, at Blackfoot Park on Sunday, June 19.
