Multi-time Canadian Enduro Champion, Corduroy Champion and International Six Days Enduro medalist Patrick Beaule set a new record for Canada at this year’s Dakar Rally. After being part of the first Canadian car crew to complete the world’s toughest rally in 2012, Beaule set his sights on becoming the first Canadian to complete the rally on both four and two wheels. And he did just that.

Out of 196 starters, Beaule completed the 2013 edition of the Dakar in 62nd place aboard a KTM 450 RR. It was his very first time competing in the bike class at the Dakar.

Beaule works for KTM Canada as the company’s sales manager for Eastern Canada. In a recent press release, Florian Burguet, who is the general manager of KTM Canada, said the entire KTM Canada family is extremely proud of Patrick’s accomplishment. Burguet also said that Patrick has started 2013 with what will probably be the highlight of his off-road racing career.

Beaule also used his podium finish at the Dakar as an opportunity to propose to longtime girlfriend Frederique Saindon.
