Whether it be for farming, recreating or some other purpose, side-by-sides have been growing in popularity. The trend looks to continue beyond 2019. Off-road riders aren’t the only ones excited about the upcoming season—powersports store owners, sales staff and others within the industry are equally stoked about the potential of UTVs. To help find the right machine for you, we asked ATV dealers across Western Canada about their most popular side-by-sides and what trends they see coming on the horizon. Here’s what they had to say about Polaris.

Tate Jeffery is general manager of Cycle Works West in Acheson, Alberta.
What is your most popular/best-selling side-by-side?
Polaris Ranger or the Polaris RZR High Lifter.
Why do you think that is?
We sell the most of the Ranger 1000—more than anything else. We sell it commercially, recreationally . . . it just fits the mould of a lot of different buyers.
The RZR avoids having to do a whole bunch of aftermarket mods when you can buy something that comes with warranty. It’s got snorkels, the lift, big tires—everything that people were going to do anyways but it doesn’t void your warranty when you buy it that way.
What current or upcoming product are you excited about?
The new Polaris RZR PRO XP 1000 was just released this summer. We should be seeing that RZR PRO here in the next couple weeks. We don’t have it in stock yet but we’re definitely excited. All the new features. It’s a little bit narrower, just as much horsepower. It’s got everything the buyers are looking for.

What is your most popular/best-selling side-by-side?
Polaris makes sport and utility models and they make models that are right in between. There’s a pretty good mix. They have such a huge lineup that it’s a little hard to nail down. The Polaris RZR XP 1000 is a really popular machine.
Why do you think that is?
It has incredible suspension. Power. It rips and it’s a great looking machine. Availability of accessories. Polaris makes a lot of accessories for their machines.
Their other machine, the Polaris Ranger 1000, has been redesigned. They have a new Northstar series that are fully cabbed in. It’s just like being in a new truck. They’re gorgeous. The interiors are all lined. Stereo systems, air conditioning, the works. Beautiful machines.
