Motorsports and the beach combine to make Gimli a great vacation spot

Gimli is a lakeside vacation spot to keep the whole family happy

A town located along the shores of Lake Winnipeg, Gimli, Manitoba, is the perfect vacation spot for those who love to ride. Originally settled almost exclusively by Icelanders, today’s Gimli offers visitors a beachfront setting with a small-town flavour. Its annual Icelandic Festival—now in its 123rd year—is the second oldest continuous ethnic festival in North America.

Gimli has great shops, restaurants and art galleries as well as an Icelandic museum. The lake experience includes an incredible beach and the chance for fishing, sailing, boating and swimming. With live entertainment on the Harbour Stage throughout the summer months, Gimli is an ideal place for a family-friendly vacation.

Whether you’re looking to stay in a hotel, enjoy the luxury of a bed and breakfast, get closer to nature in a cabin on the lake or relax in your own RV, Gimli has accommodations to meet your vacation needs.

For those who live for and love to ride, Gimli is home to the Northern Lites Raceway, a track that has been the site of many national-level events, and the Gimli Motorsports Park, where there’s always something happening.
