SylvanSport GO adventure trailer

by

If watching television on a high-def flatscreen and lounging in a leather armchair aren't your idea of the perfect camping trip, then you may be interested in the SylvanSport GO.

A much smaller and more versatile take on the traditional toy hauler, the SylvanSport GO is equipped with a deck for hauling an ATV (or dirt bikes) and a tent that pops out to provide enough sleeping space for up to four people—or two adults and three kids.

The tent itself is customizable so if you’re only sleeping two, the king-and-a-half-sized mattress can be converted to fit two single beds instead. There are accessories, such as flip-down table panels, and the tent material is weatherproof, mosquito-proof and mildew resistant.

And there is no need to crouch inside this tent. Six feet six inches of headspace ensures that even the tallest of men can walk around comfortably.

Loading an ATV on the trailer is easy. The removal of two cotter pins allows the trailer to tilt while it is still hooked up to the tow vehicle. There’s no need to carry ramps, and thanks to a small oil-filled piston, the trailer doesn’t come smashing down on itself as the quad is being loaded.

“That’s just another add-on we put on the trailer so folks can load up dirt bikes or quads,” said Eric Albert, who is the SylvanSport representative for Western Canada. “Generally, you can fit two dirt bikes, a full-size quad or say a Harley (on the trailer).”

With a tough extruded aluminum frame, the trailer is light and durable. Weighing in at only 840 pounds, it can be towed by a small car or the quad itself. It also features high-flotation tires and a waterproof electrical system. With excellent handling and suspension geometry, the trailer should be easy to haul on the highway and capable of handling the rigours of rugged backcountry travel as well.
