Polaris revolutionized the off-road vehicle industry when the company released its sport-driven RZR for 2008. It was then that the recreational side-by-side market really started to grow and there is no indication that it will be slowing down anytime soon. With a newly expanded lineup of side-by-sides, Polaris is ready to once again lead the pack.
The company’s flagship model for 2014 is the new RZR XP 1000 and it comes with a slew of new features. Probably the most noteworthy is the all-new 107-horsepower Polaris ProStar Engine. The most powerful engine in its class, the ProStar 1000 offers a true 999 ccs of engine displacement.
The RZR XP 1000 benefits from an upgraded suspension as well. Equipped with exclusive Walker Evans anti-bottoming needle shocks on all four corners and 29-inch Maxxis Bighorn Tires, the RZR should offer a smooth and comfortable ride. Polaris also revamped the RZR’s high-performance on-demand wheel drive system to offer faster engagement and more torque. This means better handling and manoeuvrability around the corners.
As for comfort features, Polaris added new factory-installed doors, new seats with more legroom, a new steering wheel and LED interior lighting. And that’s not counting all the optional accessories that are available for the RZR.
Polaris also added some new models to the Ranger family—including the multi-passenger Ranger Crew 900, which is capable of carrying up to six people.
