Argo unveiled its new lineup of extreme terrain vehicles in September, and the one that caught our immediate interest was the 2015 Argo 8x8 Frontier EFI.
Designed for recreationists, the 8x8 Frontier EFI features a 747-cc four-stroke Kohler Command Pro engine that pumps out a claimed 23 horsepower. Thanks to the new electronic fuel injection, the 8x8 Frontier is easier to start in colder weather, it gets better fuel efficiency, and it's supposed to perform better at higher altitudes than did previous Frontier models.
“The 2015 Argo 8x8 Frontier EFI is an affordable way to experience an Argo for the first time,” said Bernhard Wagenknecht, who is Argo’s vice-president of sales and marketing, in the press release. “Add some of our new accessories, and the Frontier is ready for all types of outdoor adventures,” he said.
Argo’s line of accessories for the Frontier includes a rear cargo liner, four- and eight-wheel trailers and a sprayer package for property owners who are investing in weed or insect control.
Like the 8x8 Frontier EFI, the Argo trailers are amphibious, too. Depending on the model, the trailers can hold up to 637 kilograms or 1,405 pounds. The new 8x8 Frontier EFI’s load capacity on land is six persons and up to 454 kilograms (1,000 pounds). On water, it can handle four persons and up to 409 kilograms (900 pounds).
