If you’re thinking of buying a Kawasaki Mule, then you’ll probably want to wait until the 2015 Mule Pro-FXT hits showroom floors—which should be mid- to late-September—before you pull out your credit card.
Why? Because it comes with some great new features that make it the fastest and most powerful Mule Kawasaki has ever produced.
The “King of the Mules,” as Kawasaki calls it, is powered by a liquid-cooled, three-cylinder, 812-cc engine. The Mule Pro-FXT’s power is focused more on the low-end, which is great for low-speed manoeuvring and towing, but that doesn’t mean it’s doggy when it comes to acceleration. According to Kawasaki, this workhorse has plenty of get up and go.
It also features Kawasaki’s new and exclusive Trans Cab. In just one minute, the cab can be transformed from a three-person seating position to a six-person configuration and vice versa. When it’s in the three-person configuration, the vehicle can haul up to 453 kilograms (1,000 pounds), and it’s towing capacity is rated for up to 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds). That’s a hefty payload, and with its gas-assisted tilting cargo bed, emptying the cargo should be easier.
