Two years after the death of her husband, professional business consultant Linda Crill felt stuck and unable to really engage in her life.

In her book, Blind Curves—One Woman’s Unusual Journey to Reinvent Herself and Answer: What Now?, Crill describes how she followed through with her impulsive declaration—born of frustration—that she was going to learn to ride a motorcycle. From signing up for riding lessons, taking her first road test and dropping her bike, buying leathers, facing down her doubts about embarking on her first road trip just three weeks after getting her licence, Crill describes the challenges and triumphs she experienced as a result of her decision to make good on her word.

Blind Curves is an intensely personal and refreshingly non-laborious-to-read book about evolving through grief and healing to reinvention. While it certainly explores and describes Crill’s own experiences—both physical and metaphysical—it doesn’t belabour the process.

Crill’s story is enhanced by the use of sketches done by illustrator Kevin L. Miller. While Crill is judicious with her use of superlatives, the flowing lines of Miller’s sketches are delightfully, intensely expressive, and do much to deliver Crill’s message.

Crill has been interviewed on a number of radio and television programs, billed as “author, speaker and reinvention expert.” She is frequently featured as a keynote speaker at corporate events, primarily in the U.S.
