Arctic Cat has added five new models to its lineup of 2014 side-by-sides and three of them went into the utility series. The Prowler 500 HDX, HDX XT and HDX Limited are all new for 2014.
The HDX is the base model. The HDX seats three and is powered by a 443-cc SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection for smooth power delivery. It also boasts a fully independent suspension system, on the fly two- and four-wheel drive, front and rear two-inch hitch receivers and a tilting rear cargo box that can haul up to 600 pounds of weight. Plus, the rear cargo box is large enough to haul a wooden pallet and it can be converted to a flatbed if necessary.
Arctic Cat’s sport-fueled Wildcat family also grew this season to include the 2014 Wildcat 4X and the Wildcat 4 Limited Edition.
Made for adventure seekers who want to show their friends a good time, the Wildcat 4X features a 951-cc, V-twin, four-stroke engine with EFI, a five-link rear suspension providing a full 18 inches of travel and Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires and aluminum wheels. The Wildcat 4X also comes with Fox Podium Shocks, race-inspired bucket seats, on the fly two- and four-wheel drive and diff lock, and a rear cargo box that’s rated for carrying up to 300 pounds of gear. Available in three different colour schemes, the Wildcat 4X is one wicked-looking machine that begs to be taken out to play.
