Last month, Can-Am lifted the covers off its new lineup for 2014 and the most exciting news is the expansion of the company’s side-by-side lineup. A four-seater has been added to the family.
The new 2014 Can-Am Maverick MAX 1000R is powered by the same 976-c.c., V-twin, liquid-cooled engine and it has the same features as the original two-seater Maverick—but it comes with seating for four full-sized adults. To accommodate the extra riders, the Maverick MAX 1000R is equipped with rear passenger ergonomics, such as individual grab bars, a longer 113.8-inch wheelbase and larger front hydraulic brakes.
The Maverick MAX 1000R comes with plenty of features, but for performance-driven individuals there is the Maverick MAX 1000R X rs DPS package. This model comes with added options like Fox Podium X Performance RC2.5 HPG piggyback shocks, 12-inch aluminum bead-lock wheels and a custom steering wheel. The Maverick MAX 1000R X rs DPS package also benefits from Can-Am’s Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering—which is new to the Maverick lineup.
Can-Am also updated its original two-seater Maverick and is offering two new package options for this machine. Serious trail riding enthusiasts will probably like the Maverick X xc DPS package. It comes with Can-Am’s new Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering, Visco-Lok QE and other X package upgrades, but in a narrower 60-inch width.
The utility-based Commander series saw upgrades as well. To view the entire lineup for 2014, visit the Can-Am offroad website.
