Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS

A bike that will both blur the scenery and deliver everyday fun

by Jessica Kirby

Whether you live the dream of wild, full-performance action or coast in the relaxed reality of errands and the daily commute, the Ninja 650 will get you there with a smile on your face. This bike is perfectly at home cruising the highway, canyon carving or zipping through city streets, making it a great and versatile ride for novice and expert riders—and anyone in-between.

New from last year’s model is a slimmer frame and seat, offering up better comfort and light, responsive handling. At 465 pounds of curb weight, it’s a featherweight compared to the average 650-cc bike, but true to its classic roots, the Ninja 650’s styling is aggressive and slick with highly functional wind tunnel-derived body lines and an adjustable windscreen.

Also appealing to all levels and types of riders is the Ninja’s liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin, which boasts a virtually flat torque curve and smooth, linear delivery. If versatility is high on the shopping list, this bike’s great handling, superb stability and decent suspension will make it shine.  If you’re looking around for a bike that will both blur the scenery and deliver everyday fun and reliability, this probably is a good choice.
