Arctic Cat announces $27m expansion of manufacturing plants

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal is reporting that Minnesota-based Arctic Cat will invest about $27 million to expand its operations in St. Cloud and Thief River Falls.

According to the company most of the expansion with take place in northern Minnesota at Arctic Cat’s Thief River facility. The company stated that it will spend $26 million for a new paint line for its off-road recreational vehicles. The AC plant in St. Cloud will get $400,000 for an expanded assembly line. The expansion is slated to add about 50 jobs in Minnesota.

The company makes snowmobiles, ATVs, related parts, garments and accessories. Arctic Cat is Minnesota's 38th-largest publicly traded company according to the Business Journal.
