CALGARY, AB – The Motorcycle Show – Calgary presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance is set to take place at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park January 8th through 10th, 2016.

This will be the first opportunity for Southern Albertans to check out what’s new in motorcycles, side-by-sides, ATVs and scooters for 2016.  All the major manufacturers will be represented on the Show floor.

“What better way to whet the appetites of bike enthusiasts than filling three halls of the BMO Centre with the very latest and greatest in two, three and four wheels available on the market." says Show Manager Laurie Paetz, “With the recent changes in the economic climate in Alberta, we are optimistic that there will be an even greater interest in bikes, as they are an extremely affordable mode of transportation.”

In addition to the impressive showcase of new model motorcycles, there is a wide variety of aftermarket accessories, apparel, touring destinations, as well as clubs and associations.

SHE Rides Nite continues to grow and gain in popularity each year.  On Friday, January 8th admission is half price for all women after 5:00 pm. The highlight of evening will be a draw for a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 300, which was inspired by the Ninja supersport line.  It is lightweight and provides a thrilling and agile ride powered by a compact but potent engine.  Its nimble handling and balanced suspension offer a silky-smooth ride, irresistible to experienced track riders as well as novice road riders looking to sharpen their skills.  This amazing prize is provided by Canadian Kawasaki.

New to the Motorcycle Show – Calgary this year is Torch Motorcycles, a local group of female moto-enthusiasts focused on collecting real data to design and build new café racer bikes, and apparel for women, while promoting safety and building community.  The Torch Motorcycle Revv-olution exhibit will encompass safety, design, technology, fashion, and an opportunity to watch some of the women work on their own custom designed bikes.

The Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Club will also have an exhibit of handbuilt custom bikes dating as far back as the early 1940’s.  These bikes are on loan from their owners who take great pride in sharing their one of a kind bikes with other enthusiasts.

Motor Madness and Mayhem comes to the Corral with not one, but two ramps, side by side.  The freestyle jumping action will be performed by some of the biggest names in MX freestyle, and to ensure there is non-stop action Craig Latimer joins the team to perform wheelies, churros, burnouts and drifting on the arena floor.

Riding is a family affair and the Yamaha Riding Academy ensures that a riders’ first experience is an extremely positive one.  Under the experienced watchful eye of trained instructors, kids between the ages of 6 and 12 have the opportunity to receive instruction and safety tips, gear up and then head out on the track to give riding a try in a safe, supervised environment. Be sure to sign up early as space is limited.

What would be better than starting off the 2016 riding season on a brand new bike?  On Sunday, January 10th, one lucky qualifier will win a brand new 2016 Bonneville 900 Street Twin valued at $12,000, courtesy of Triumph Motorcycles.

Produced by Power Sport Services (PSS), the Motorcycle Show – Calgary boasts an impressive line-up of manufacturers including Arctic Cat, BMW Motorrad, BRP-CanAM, Harley-Davidson Canada, Ducati, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Piaggio, Polaris, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha, just to name a few.
