Shane Cuthbertson of Airdrie, Alberta, has been on a roll, winning his last three events. This past Labour Day long weekend, Cuthbertson and his Husaberg TE300 put the beat-down on his competition on what is traditionally the toughest off-road race in the Alberta Dirt Riders calendar.
The Crowsnest Cross Country in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, has been the masterpiece of David French and has survived forest fires, fire bans and many events that went ahead despite snow cover and blizzards at higher elevations. This year, special efforts were made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this event. The course had three loops, all returning to race camp for refuelling, and taking riders up into high altitude, classic Rocky Mountain single-track terrain.
After three hours and 47 minutes of pushing hard, Cuthbertson crossed the finish line victorious, ahead of KTM riderJack Sawatski, who kept Cuthbertson honest for much of the race.
Cuthbertson would like to thank the following for their continued support: Husaberg Canada, A&E Racing and Marine, GoldenTyre, FMF, Omega Transport, Rebel Energy Services, FLY, Dragon, Shorai, UFA, SIDI, Warp 9, PG Graphics, ProMoto Billet, ProAction Suspension West, Kermaxx, T.M.
