As part of the July 4, 2012, Independence Day celebrations in Sandpoint, Idaho, a small but enthusiastic group led by Farmers Custom created an epic endurocross event to cap off the weekend’s activities at the Bonner County fairgrounds. This independent event is well attended by many local Idaho, Washington and Montana endurocross enthusiasts. Twelve Canadians made the trek south to participate in the festivities as well.
Corner Grass Racing Team's (CGRT) Shane Cuthbertson, who is from Airdrie, Alberta, and family were on hand to compete and experience yet another fun-filled weekend of endurocross competition. Shane participated in both the pro classes and came away with a first and second overall finish on the weekend.
“My Husaberg TE300 was on fire and allowed me to pull the hole shot in each of my four motos,” said Shane. “I had a crash in one moto and got taken out in another … That really lit a fire for the remaining two motos in which I led from start to finish!”
In addition to Shane’s accomplishments on the weekend, the Cuthbertson boys—Chase and Kale—participated in what proved to be the most exciting racing of the evening with each of them earning first-place finishes in their respective classes.
“I am very proud of my boys and so thankful that they can experience this type of racing at such a young age,” said Shane. “It is great to experience these types of events with my family and allows me to continue pursuing my passion for racing while representing CGRT and our great sponsors!”
Shane is proud to be supported by Husaberg Canada, A&E Racing, GoldenTyre, FMF, Omega Transport, Rebel Energy Services, FLY, Dragon, Shorai, UFA, SIDI, Warp 9, PG Graphics, ProMoto Billet, ProAction Suspension West, Kermaxx, T.M. DesignWorks, Motonation, Gamma Sales, Royal Distributing and ViSalus.
