If you’re a Mark Messier fan, then you should also be a fan of BRP’s Can-Am Spyder. The six-time Stanley Cup champion recently signed up with BRP to promote the company’s 2014 Spyder lineup.

His endorsement of the product is advertised in a YouTube video. Messier speaks about his guarantee that the New York Rangers would win Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final and explains how his life was changed after they won. It’s kind of quirky video but we get the point, and according to the Can Am Spyder Team, even Mark Messier agrees that it’s funny.

But in the press release, Tom Riley, who is the Can-Am Spyder marketing director, said Messier represents a strong fit for the Can-Am Spyder.

“We believe that everyone should enjoy the adventure and freedom of riding the open road,” said Riley. “The Can-Am Spyder vehicle enables this by offering the unique combination of exhilaration, stability and control and his history with the brand has Mark well-placed to help us get the message out to potential Can-Am Spyder riders.”

BRP was an official sponsor of the 2014 NHL Stadium Series—which took place in Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago—as well as the 2014 NHL Heritage Classic in Vancouver, B.C.

BRP is also the presenting sponsor of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge. The company is giving away an NHL team branded Can-Am Spyder to whoever wins the challenge.
