ISDE 2014 race recap for Ryan Linderman

The 2014 racing season has concluded with an incredible experience for Ryan Linderman at the FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) in San Juan, Argentina.

After spending a week walking the sand and rock special tests of the San Juan region, Linderman impounded his FC 250 Husqvarna without incident. Having acclimated to the 30+ C degree heat, he was ready to face his first six days.

Days 1 and 2 went without incident for Linderman, as did Days 3 and 4, but many others were not so fortunate. Over 110 riders were not able to complete Day 3, and it has been called the worst single day of the ISDE. Fine sand and silt penetrated air filters and wore out engines at an incredible rate.

Day 5 was not so kind to the Hillcrest Mines, Alberta, native as a broken chain early in the day left him behind. As Linderman pushed to regain lost minutes, a miscue over a cross rut left him with a very tender shoulder and collarbone, swollen from the impact. The six days is known for allowing people to show their true character, and this proved so for Linderman. He soldiered on, changing tires at the end of the day to prepare for the final motocross of Day 6.

Day 6 went uneventful as Linderman rode to his first ISDE medal. Upon returning home to Canada, X-rays revealed that he had broken his collarbone and separated his shoulder. The Corner Grass Racing Team (CGRT) is proud that, despite the pain and discomfort of his injury, Linderman was able to push himself and finish this prestigious event.
