Shane (aka Moose) Cuthbertson from Cochrane, Alberta, continued his dominance as he trampled the competition at the Second Gear Club’s Whispering Pines Hare Scrambles—which took place September 22 and 23, 2012, in the Waiparous Valley, Alberta.
After five laps, averaging 34 minutes a lap, Moose took the win with a margin of nearly 13 minutes. His Husaberg TE 300 worked flawlessly in the tight, rooty off cambers of the course.
Cole Dobovich from Provost, Alberta, had a great day as well, as the first-year pro again landed on the podium and finished in third place. Dobovich and his Husaberg FX 450 rode fast and smooth with no drama, keeping his championship podium hopes alive.
In the Vet Expert class, Lee Fryberger gated well and brought home the win after taking the lead part way through the first of four laps.
“I’m enjoying my racing lately, trying to ride smooth and avoid the ground,” said Fryberger. “And I couldn’t be happier with the team. Shane keeps showing us that skills, determination, bike setup and good equipment are a tough combination to beat. A big thanks to all our supporters for helping us have fun and represent on the podium.”
