On April 1, 2014, a press release was sent out, announcing Polaris Industries’ acquisition of Kolpin Outdoors Inc.

Kolpin Outdoors is a Wisconsin-based company that started in 1943. It offers a wide variety of ATV and UTV accessories—from plows and winches to storage solutions and hunting products.

Although the terms of the transaction were not disclosed in the press release, it was indicated that Polaris would not change the company’s name; instead, Kolpin products will continue to be sold under the Kolpin and Cycle Country brands.

Steve Eastman, who is vice-president of Polaris’ parts, garment and accessories (PG&A) business, said the acquisition of Kolpin is good for the company.

“Kolpin is a trusted brand among ORV riders, hunters, outdoorsmen and landowners who value the quality and reliability Kolpin builds into their powersports accessories,” said Eastman. “Their lineup of exceptional products and deep customer and retail relationships will help Polaris expand our aftermarket accessories portfolio and enhance our traditional and online distribution channels.”
