Coming into Round 8 of the 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals in Moncton, NB, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Christophe Pourcel knew exactly what he needed to do. With only a few motos remaining, and Pourcel sitting in second place in the MX1 series, the smooth rider from France had his mind set on winning in Moncton. After long battles in both motos with his MX1 rivals, Pourcel got into the lead quickly in Moto 2 and never looked back.

Lap after lap, the Riverglade fans got to witness vintage Christophe Pourcel, as his used his smooth throttle control to take a dominant moto win, as well as the overall in the MX1 class.

Pourcel: ”This weekend in Moncton was bittersweet, winning is always great but we did not move up any in the championship. The track was very fast and slick so being consistent each lap was key to doing well. I was able to go 2-1 for the overall win on the weekend and we look forward to doing our best in this championship.”

With eight rounds now in the books, Pourcel and his team move back to Quebec to the very popular Deschambault circuit. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team tested at the Deschambault track a few weeks ago, so they should be ready to go when the gate drops at Round 9. Currently, Pourcel sits in second place in the MX1 class, just 19 points out of the lead.
