On what many consider to be the most difficult race of the 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals, the Rockstar Energy athlete gave it everything he had to put his Factory Racing Husqvarna inside the top five at the first eastern round of the series. Under warm blue skies, Pourcel struggled to find his rhythm on the extremely rough Gopher Dunes track. However, with the bright red plate on his Husqvarna, Pourcel knew he had to dig deep and make the most of his day. When all was said and done, Pourcel put on a determined ride to finish up in 5th place on the challenging sand track.

Pourcel now sits 2nd overall in the MX1 point’s standings heading into Round 6 next weekend in Quebec.

Pourcel: “Today was a very difficult day right from the start. Not only was I struggling with the track, but I was sick all day as well. Every time I tried to really push hard, I began to make mistakes and had to back it down. Obviously, I would've like to have won and keep the red plate, but 5th was the best I could do today and I'm happy that I didn’t lose too many points to Matt. I'm really looking to racing in Quebec next weekend as I've heard that it's always exciting to race there.”

With five rounds now in the books, Pourcel sits second overall in the MX1 point’s standings, just nine points back of Matt Goerke. Now the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team continues east to the brand new track in Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Conseil, QC. for Round 6 of this 10 round series.
