Kitt Stringer is the new face of Sherco Canada’s West Coast Ride Ambassador program.
Stringer, who is from Victoria, B.C., has been involved in dirt biking since 2009. His race career includes a podium finish at the 2013 Red Bull Romaniacs—the world's toughest hard enduro—and a 59th place finish (out of 1,000) at the prestigious Desert 100.
Stringer finished second overall in Masters for the 2013 Vancouver Island Hare Scramble Series (VIHSS), and he was also selected for Team Canada ISDE.
During 2014, Stringer will be promoting the Sherco brand, the sport and the bike that he’s racing and riding: a factory edition 250 SE-R.
“I am excited to be trusted enough to showcase this new product,” said Stringer, “and I think once people ride the bike, they are going to feel the same way about it as I do: that they’re awesome in the woods.”
Stringer welcomes anyone interested in the Sherco brand or the dirtbiking lifestyle, for that matter, to come out and ride with him. You can also catch up with him at any round of this year’s VIHSS. Stringer can be also be contacted through Sherco Canada or via Facebook.
Sherco at a glance
It used to be that KTM was the alternative to big-name brands like Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, but now the orange bleeders are looking to other newcomers like GasGas and Sherco to fill their off-road dirtbiking needs.
Much like GasGas, Sherco focused on trials bikes when it was started in 1998. Since then, the company has branched out and is dipping heavily into the enduro market. A new factory was even built in France to handle the enduro side of the business.
At first, the bikes were only available in Europe, but in 2013, Sherco decided to bring its enduro lineup to North America as well.
For 2015, Sherco is offering a full line of two- and four-stroke bikes. For more info, see Sherco Canada’s website.
