On one of the hottest days, and on one of the roughest tracks in Canada, the KTM Thor Racing Team showed up Ready To Race at the opening round of the CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals. In the MX1 class, Davi Millsaps and Kaven Benoit shone as they finished the day in first and fourth overall. In MX2, Cole Thompson rode strong all day to claim second overall.
For Thompson, the day did not begin the way he would have liked as he tangled with another rider on the opening lap of moto one and was forced to play catch up for the rest of the race. He proved just how determined he is as he battled back to fourth place. In the second and deciding moto, Thompson backed that up with an impressive victory.
After two solid motos Thompson reflected on his day with the utmost optimism.
“I’m satisfied with my results today as you can’t win a championship at Round 1 but you can certainly lose it,” said Thompson. “The goal is to build on this weekend’s performance and come back even stronger at Round 2.”
After a very gruelling opening round to the 2016 series, the KTM Thor Racing Team will travel west to beautiful Nanaimo, B.C. for Round two.
