Round 4 of the CMRC motocross nationals takes place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on June 21, 2014, and if you’re going to be there, be sure to watch for famed snocross racer Tucker Hibbert.
An announcement was made earlier this week that Hibbert plans to begin his 2014 motocross campaign in Canada. Then he’ll be back to the U.S. for three rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross National.
“I’m excited to start another summer of racing motocross,” said the eight-time national snocross champion in a June 17th press release. “I wasn’t sure if I’d do the race in Canada this weekend, but I feel ready so I decided to sign up. It'll be fun to go back to Canada and race on a track I’ve had success at before.”
Before he was a snocross sensation, Hibbert was a pro motocrosser and he followed the Lucas Oil Motocross Nationals full time. After a three-year break from the sport, Hibbert returned to the dirt track in 2012. He campaigned again in 2013.
Hibbert has no intentions of becoming the next U.S. motocross star, but he does have plans to be in the top 10 when the season’s over. Plus, motocross is a good way for him to stay in shape during the summer before he goes back to dominating the American snocross scene.
“After the round in Canada, I’ll race my three favourite tracks in the U.S,” he said in that same press release. “I’m not interested in chasing around the country to hit all the races. For me, it’s more important to put in my best effort at a few select rounds. I’m going to do my best to reach my goal of an AMA Pro Motocross top-10 finish.”
