Tucker Hibbert’s domination on the American snocross circuit has not gone unnoticed. Right now, he’s up for a 2015 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly (ESPY) award in the category of Best Male Action Sports Athlete.
This is Hibbert’s third time being nominated, and if he wins, he’ll be the first snowmobiler in history to receive this award. The other nominees in this category are Ryan Dungey (motocross), Nyjah Huston (skateboarding), Mark McMorris (snowboarding) and Josh Sheehan (freestyle motocross). Last year, the award for Best Male Action Sports Athlete went to Huston.
In the press release, Hibbert said it’s a huge honour to be nominated, but like always, he really wants to win.
“A snowmobiler has never won this award, so it’d be a big win for the sport,” said Hibbert. “I know snowmobilers are a passionate group of people so hopefully they’ll all put in their vote."
The ESPY awards are presented annually by the TV network ESPN to recognize athletes for their standout achievements. To vote, go to the ESPY website. One vote per web device is allowed, and you will have until July 15 to vote for your favourite male action sports athlete.
