RidersWest: Soak up the MUD this summer
Summer has arrived and so have the most thrilling events when it comes to ATVs and dirt bikes. For starters, the 19th Annual Kootenay Rat Raid is going on now and throughout the weekend in Nelson, B.C. Meanwhile, Central Alberta Raceways is hosting their July Mud Bog for those looking to get caked in muck this weekend. And if that’s not dirty enough for you, Extreme Mudfest, Canada’s largest mud and music festival, is coming up next month in Cold Lake, Alberta, from August 17th to 20th.
If there’s an event you’d like everyone to know about, help spread the word and submit your event.
Yamaha says sayonara to snowmobiles:
After 55 years of making snowmobiles, Yamaha is leaving the industry. The last Yamaha snowmobiles to be produced will be model year 2025, which are slated for release next year. After that time, Yamaha snowmobiles will become a relic of yesteryear, a permanent memory only to be found within Old Sled Zone archives.
Going forward, Yamaha will concentrate management resources on current business activities and new growth markets, which could mean a boost to the brand’s side-by-side, marine, motorcycle and e-bike products.
