On March 15, 2012, an evening meeting was held in regards to a brand new ATV club based out of Cranbrook, B.C. The Kootenay Rockies ATV meeting was well attended—almost 40 people came out to support the new club, including Gordon Galloway, director of ATV/BC.

Rod and Candy Motkoski, who are from Edson, took over the business on March 12, 2012, and according to Kaille Auriat, who works at Northside Motorsports, the husband-and-wife team are both avid motorsports enthusiasts.
Northside Motorsports opened in the summer of 2008 and the company will continue to offer products, such as ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles, from the Yamaha, Arctic Cat and Suzuki brands.
