Where to go for UTV accessories

UTV accessories were difficult to come by in Canada

Reid Nehring, owner of UTV Canada, was once involved in the powersports industry as the general manager for a major dealership. He knew there had to be a better solution for sourcing parts and accessories for UTVs. In 2006, the only suppliers were located in the United States, which meant astronomical pricing sparked by duty, brokerage and shipping fees. His frustration grew into inspiration, for he knew someone had to make UTV accessories more available and affordable for the average consumer.

Fast forward to 2014 and UTV Canada, located in Leduc, Alberta, is the premiere supplier of accessories for every make and model of side-by-side. Nehring knew the market was going to explode, he jumped in with everything he had. Many a family supper was interrupted so Nehring could get back to work. His one man show grew into a family business when he enlisted the help of his wife Cathy and his daughters Tara and Stacey.

“It’s a way of life for our family,” said Tara Perrson, Nehring's daughter. “I still remember when Dad bought us our first ATV. We’ve always been involved with powersports.”

Persson does marketing and networking for UTV Canada, working part-time to accommodate her children's schedules.

You’ll quite often find the UTV Canada crew at local events and fundraisers. This past summer they attended the Snow and Mud Jamboree west of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Perrson admits there is one thing she’d like to do relating to UTVs, as adventurous as her father, she’d love the opportunity to race!

Stacy’s picks

Operations manager and accessory guru Stacy Pelletier, Nehring’s other daughter, shares her top picks in the 2014 UTV Canada lineup:

  • SSV Works Stereos have always been a premier product for sound systems. Now the overhead stereos are fully Bluetooth compatible, pumping out the jam has never been easier or more powerful. Bluetooth connectivity for wireless integration with over 30-foot range. More efficient with their new high power Class D amplifier and of course more powerful.
  • Pro Armour Doors are an excellent aftermarket option for all models of UTVs. These lightweight all aluminum bolt-on doors provide protection and shade combined with an element of style to keep you safe and looking awesome. No drilling required. This is a quick and easy mod anyone can do.
  • New to the lineup, No Limits Wheels give you a fully. customizable UTV rim with 16 colour choice options. Inside edge options include positive cut, tracer cut and BT cut, while rim edge styles include bullet edge, line edge and plain edge. These wheels are available for all of the major UTV models offered in today’s powersports market.

Trish's pick

There is a performance product I love that is, well, downright sexy. If ever you’ve heard the low rumble of a dual muzzy exhaust you’ll never be the same again. I’m talking goosebumps from the back of your neck down to your toes. Not only does this aftermarket exhaust option sound great, it gives you a bit more snap and pop on your ride with the integrated Siamese collector. Not going to lie, this is one of the aftermarket mods I recommend most to my UTV customers, not only because it’s awesome, but because I absolutely love the sound of a dual muzzy.
