ATVing in the Pass is amazing
The Rocky Mountains of southern Alberta are prized for snowmobiling, but when the snow melts and summer arrives in the Crowsnest Pass, the region becomes an ATVing paradise for riders like Patricia Lundy.

Lundy is a member of the Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad, so it’s no surprise that her favourite summer activity is going ATV camping. And with more than a thousand kilometres of trails rated for either novice or experienced riders, there are so many places to choose from.
“The Pass is a great area to ride due to the extent of the trail system and the variety of scenic trails and wilderness areas,” said Lundy. “Also, there are numerous points to access trails.”
Some of the staging areas that have campsites are McGillvray Creek, Atlas and York Creek. More adventurous ATVers can explore the Carbondale Flats, Indian Graves and Dutch Creek riding areas. Maps of the trails are available at the Quad Squad office in Coleman.
Throughout the year, members of the Quad Squad, which includes ATVers from Calgary, are busy clearing trails, building bridges and organizing events. The club also holds riding courses and has an ATV safety presentation program for elementary schools.
