Adrenalin shoots through my veins with one push of the e-start button as the 2013 Beta 250 RR roars to life. I gently pull the throttle, slowly release the clutch and instantly feel the front end lift, as a smile comes over my entire face.

Tumbler Ridge, a town of about 3,000 people in northern B.C., finally has an ATV club to call its own. The new Grizzly Valley ATV Club was officially formed on May 7, 2013.

For as long as I can remember, the annual car show in Cranbrook, B.C., has been a highlight of the summer, and this year was no different. On Saturday, July 20, the parking lot of Western Financial Place was transformed into a sea of shiny metal. 

The 10th anniversary of the Red Bull Romaniacs in Sibiu, Romania, saw for the first time not one but two riders from Canada standing on the podium. In the Hobby Single class, Kitt Stringer rode to a third-place finish, while his friend and fellow competitor Esteban Torres Bonet claimed the top spot. Both riders are from Victoria, B.C., and this was their first attempt at the Red Bull Romaniacs.

The Royal Distributing Canadian Cross Country Championship (CXCC) wrapped up with two consecutive weekends of racing. The 28th Annual Monkey Wrench Cross Country was held near Lytton B.C., on June 30, 2013, in 30 degree weather. Kitimat, B.C.’s Ben Rego stayed consistent on his A&E Racing Husaberg TE 300 to finish fourth overall pro. 

A little common sense goes a long way when it comes to riding ATVs, bikes and snowmobiles.

Each day I get a chuckle. From Facebook messages to personal encounters, it’s the same thing. Men everywhere are looking for the holy grail of a woman. A woman who can shred, bike, fish and, well, basically be a tough, awesome nature girl. Fellas, I’m thinking you’re doing it wrong.
